Proposed law is a threat to California workers

The California State Assembly is currently considering AB 1309, a bill that would make it difficult for professional athletes in any sport or at any level from using the state’s workers' compensation system. Members of the National Football League Players Association, including Drew Brees and Tom Brady, have been particularly vocal in their criticism of the bill.

California safety officials investigate dairy farm accident

Milk cows are generally not regarded as aggressive animals. However, a California dairy worker recently sustained fatal internal injuries while herding a group of dairy cows for his employer on a recent early Saturday morning. The accident has prompted an investigation by officials from the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Demolition site accident prompts OSHA investigation

California readers may have heard about a recent building collapse that made national news. The accident occurred during a scheduled morning demolition. The collapsing structure reportedly fell into a neighboring store, trapping some customers and employees in the rubble. At least thirteen people were injured.
