On construction sites, there are many hazards that workers need to watch out for, from electrocution to dangerous machinery. Regrettably, some contractors fail to cordon off dangerous areas or take preventative measures that could have saved the lives of workers in San Bernardino, and across California. When a construction worker is involved in an on-the-job accident, the outcome may have a wide-reaching impact on their family and even the company they work for, which underlines the importance of prevention.
A construction site accident that recently happened in Tennessee claimed the life of a 38-year-old man. According to law enforcement officials, the man was working on a home’s third floor when he fell through an elevator shaft and struck his head. The man lost his life on the job site.
The accident, which took place at about 8:15 a.m., is being investigated. However, authorities say there are no signs of foul play and have ruled the death as accidental. Tennessee Occupational Safety & Health Administration officials responded to the accident scene to examine the incident.
