What are the signs of a concussion?

From slip-and-fall accidents to automobile accidents, there are a number of threats that Americans face every day. Unfortunately, some people who are injured in these types of accidents suffer a brain injury, such as a concussion, and it is important to understand the signs and symptoms of a brain injury in order to seek proper treatment. In San Bernardino, California, people who have suffered brain damage due to a head injury should address their predicament as soon as possible and may want to consider taking legal action if negligence was involved.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published a helpful overview of the signs of a concussion on their site. If you have suffered a head injury  or experience this type of injury in the future, identifying a brain injury immediately is essential. When it comes to concussion signs, the CDC focuses on four areas. First of all, concussions could cause you to experience problems with thinking clearly, concentrating and remembering. Concussions may also cause physical issues, such as headaches, blurred vision, dizziness, nausea, light sensitivity, difficulty balancing and a lack of energy. Additionally, people who have had a concussion may experience emotional challenges including depression, irritability and anxiety. Finally, concussions can interfere with sleep, causing someone to sleep more or less than they should and have difficulty falling asleep. These symptoms may last for a number of days or they could persist for weeks or even longer.
